Who's Who in Black Atlanta is unveiled

The long and highly anticipated release of “Who's Who in Black Atlanta - The 2004 Edition” was officially unveiled December 16 during a VIP reception held at the Hyatt Regency Atlanta.  Mayor Shirley Franklin and a host of other A-list Atlanta residents spanning all genres of influence from music, to sports, to politics, to business, to media were present at the swanky affair. The event was hosted by media personalities Karen Greer (NBC affiliate 11 Alive) and Magic Man (V103 FM). 

Who’s Who in Black Atlanta is an annual glossy coffee table quality publication that features biographical data on the achievements of African-American men and women who have made their mark in their careers and professions in the metro area.

This year’s edition features a nine page “Special Tribute to Maynard H. Jackson, JrAtlanta’s first African-African Mayor; and one of Atlanta’s greatest leaders.   Additionally, the Foreword to this year’s publication is written by Thomas W. Dortch, Jr., chairman of the National Board of Directors for the 100 Black Men of America, Inc.   

Dionne M. Muhammad was nominated for inclusion in the book by top Atlanta publicist, Regina Lynch Hudson.  Muhammad is considered in celebrity circles nationwide as a credible lifestyle manager with a reputable staffing agency that provides human resources structure to the sports and entertainment community.  Muhammad’s bio-sketch was featured in the Entrepreneurs section.      

The buzz has already begun about  “Livin’ Large - Atlanta’s Black Homes Section”- a 29 page color feature in the book. Regina Lynch-Hudson penned the feature and Keith Rocke Photography captured the homes of notables like NFL great Ray Buchanan of the Atlanta Falcons; Tameka Foster-Glover, a celebrity fashion stylist whose clients include Toni-Braxton, Usher, Lauren Hill, Patti Labelle among others; the twins from R&B group Jagged Edge; the Grammy-award winning–songwriter/music producer known as  She'kspere (pronounced Shakespeare) and other celebrities and high profiles individuals.  “Livin’ Large” offers an irresistible peek into private showplaces designed by a virtuoso of architects.
